Tips for maintaining your wine cellar

Just like the American refrigerator, the built-in microwave or the food processor, the designer wine cellar needs to be cleaned. Although there are no precise rules concerning this maintenance, it is recommended to do it regularly. The quality of the wine and the longevity of your large household appliances are at stake.

Keep your drink when cleaning

Wine is one of the most delicate drinks there is. The slightest change in temperature can be fatal. The reason why the wine glass is a stemmed glass is certainly so that the ice does not come into contact with the body heat of the hand. This would impact the ventilated cold and deteriorate the taste of the aperitif. And yet, themaintenance of your ageing cellar class b is only possible if you take your bottles out for the time it takes to clean them, in which case we advise you to proceed as quickly as possible. A few minutes in the open air will not harm the food and wine, unless the ambient temperature reaches 35°C, as in summer. To avoid brutalizing the wine liqueur in line by what is known as "thermal shock", it is best to carry out the cleaning from September onwards, when the temperature begins to drop.

Proceed to cleaning

Although your minibar appliance is not in direct contact with the dirt on the outside, over time, dust can accumulate on it. This is in addition to the dirt that accumulates when you open or close your ageing wine cellar. In both cases, here's a simple recipe to get rid of this dirt as quickly and cheaply as possible. Take some water, to which you can add some of your washing up liquid. For safety reasons, unplug the cable from the plug before you sponge polish the walls of the wine cellar and then wring it out with a dry cloth that you've prepared in advance and nearby. Do the same for the ventilation grille. Finally, take a look at your activated carbon filter. If it no longer manages to clean the foul odours properly, consider buying a new one. Its price varies from 30 to 50 euros on average.

The different types of interviews

For the longevity of your cheap wine cellar service, you will need to proceed with two kinds of serviceinterviewsThese are the weekly maintenance and the annual maintenance.

The first one is a simple dusting, but that doesn't prevent you from doing a more thorough cleaning, especially if you decide to do it with several people. You'll save a lot of time while allowing you to better wine conservationAlthough this is generally an outdoor treatment, the use of chemicals should be avoided.

Contrary to the first one, the annual maintenance concerns the inside of the liebherr ageing cellar. Indeed, the manufacturers recommend to clean the internal compartments only once a year, for the simple reason that it presents a big risk for the bottles (all types of wines included) that you will have to take out beforehand. Also remove thermometer, hygrometer and various layettes before passing the soapy water solution.
